DEPRESSION AWARENESS, EDUCATION & SUPPORT
OUR CURRENT PROGRAM AT-A-GLANCE**
Changing the way depression is viewed, discussed and treated:
Public Awareness & Education
Stimulating the Public Discourse
At Its Most Relevant & Innovative
By advocating for what we call a HERO MODEL OF DEPRESSION - a new public educational model that emphasizes the unique strengths and accomplishments of people living with depression - we are helping to fight the stigma of depression that prevents millions of people from getting the care they desperately want and need!
** We are in development
Please check back regularly to see new program implementation!
With depression (and suicide) statistics growing at staggering rates, we are in the midst of a global health crisis. As Pulitzer-Prize nominated author Andrew Solomon puts it: "Depression is a pervasive problem and it affects everyone. The more people we can have informed about it, the better the world will be!"
BEYOND DRUGS & THERAPY: Dr. Aaron T. Beck, the founder of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), says that our work is "very important, and should make a real impact on chronic depression." Our unique offerings are designed to educate, inspire and empower people with depression to be active participants in their own mental health care and depression treatment.
